Icon and Archive: Photography and the World Wars
This exhibition was held at the Australian War Memorial. It was easily one of my favourite exhibitions from the Vivid Festival. The images were so confronting and so truthful it was shocking. The stories that went with some of the images were incredible as well. For me it was an awakening to shocking details of war. The only images we're presented with in society about war are very recent. And most of what we know of war has come out of movies or songs. There were a couple of recurring photographers in the exhibiton which is amazing to think about their job as a photojournalist in the first or second world war.
